What happens before my Snap can reach Spotlight?

Content submitted to Spotlight may be moderated before it is shared with the wider Snapchat community. This is to help keep our community safe.

Why haven’t I gotten any views of my Spotlight Snaps?

We’re thrilled to have so many amazing submissions but not every Snap will make it into Spotlight. Check out our Spotlight Guidelines and keep trying!

How do you determine who earns shares of the Snapchat spotlight $1 million?

Snapchatters have the opportunity to earn if they submit top Snaps. Payment is determined by our proprietary formula, which takes into account various engagement metrics and other factors during each day.

Please Note: In order to be eligible for payment, submissions must comply with the Community Guidelines, Spotlight Guidelines and our Spotlight Terms. Any Snaps you delete from Spotlight won’t be eligible for payment. Brands and advertisements are not eligible for payment.

How will I know if I’ve earned?

We’ll send a Chat message to you directly via Team Snapchat. Be on the lookout for a message! We will only communicate with you via Team Snapchat, unless otherwise specified via Team Snapchat. We will never ask you to provide payment information directly to Team Snapchat, instead we will link you to our third party payments provider; Hyperwallet.

⚠️ If you see messages pretending to be an official Snapchat account, report the account immediately and do not provide any personal or payment information to such account. Check out our Safety Center for more information and safety tips.

How can I get a Public Profile?

We care deeply about the safety of our community and are thoughtful about your privacy with any new feature we roll out. Snapchatters 18 and older can now opt into having a Public Profile if they want to share a little more about themselves with a wider audience (beyond their immediate friends). Learn more about Public Profiles.

Are my earnings subject to any fees when I withdraw them?

When you withdraw your earnings (if any) from your Payment Account, you will be charged applicable transaction fees (listed in the link below) by our third-party payment provider. The specific transaction fees you will be charged are based on the method you choose to withdraw your earnings and, if applicable, the currency to which you choose to convert your earnings (if other than U.S. Dollars.)

Learn more about payment provider transaction fees.

Please Note: To be eligible to earn, you must have reached the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction or be at least 16 years old with the consent of your parent(s)/legal guardian(s). For more information, see our Spotlight Terms.
